Ed Schultz now on TV

Progressive radio talk show host Ed Schultz has received the bump that many feel he deserves, a show on MSNBC.  The show will air for the first time on Monday, April 6.  "The Ed Show" will air weekdays, 6-7 p.m. ET.  Watch video

"I'm excited to have this opportunity with MSNBC," said Schultz. "I look forward to having a day to day discussion with fellow Americans on issues that really matter to all of us."

“The Ed Schultz Show” currently has a weekly radio audience of more than 3 million listeners on over 100 stations across the country.  Ed is known for being somewhat of an exception to the rule.  He has declared a love for red meat and guns, but he is as liberal as any progressive figure.  He is often a champion for the middle class, and says he will continue to fight for the working man(and woman) on his new TV show.

Fox news has a hard time dealing with the fact that progressive media is gaining ground amongst Americans, as over 90% of the current media is conservative.  It is nice to see that progressive radio has a voice in our culture.   Congratulations to Big Eddie, its about time.

If you want to vote Republican, you have to believe the following:

-Using stem cells for medial research is wrong, because you don't believe in destroying life, even if it lives in a petri dish. But it's OK to destroy larger forms of life in unnecessary wars and prison execution chambers.
-Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.
-The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.
-Government should relax regulation of Big Business and Big Money but crack down on individuals who use marijuana to relieve the pain of illness.
-"Standing Tall for America" means firing your workers and moving their jobs to India, while collecting several more millions for your CEO.
-A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multinational corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.
-Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.
-The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay and making wounded soldiers pay for their own meals while recuperating.
-Group sex and drug use are degenerate sins unless you someday run for governor of California as a Republican.
-If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.
-A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.
-HMOs, insurance companies, drug manufacturers and power plants all have the interest of the public at heart.
-Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health care to all Americans is socialism.
-Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in public schools.
-Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.
-A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense. A president lying to start a war is solid defense policy.
-Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages, banning teaching of evolution, compelling public prayer and censoring the Internet.
-The public has a right to know about Hillary Clinton's cattle trades and private health care meetings, but George Bush's driving record and Dick Cheney's private energy task force meetings are none of our business.
-It's justifiable to seal your records if you're a Republican governor of Texas, but not if you're a Democratic governor of Vermont.
-You support states' rights, which means the Attorney General can tell states what local voter initiatives they have a right to adopt.
-You support states' rights, except when a state decides to recount votes in a disputed Presidential election. Then, it's better for a Republican Supreme Court to decide the election.
What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what George W. Bush did in the 1980s is irrelevant.
-Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is under a Communist dictatorship, but trade with China and Vietnam are vital to a spirit of international harmony.
-When a Democratic Presidential candidate wins a 49% plurality in a 3-way race, his presidency isn't legitimate. But when a Republican Presidential candidate receives half a million fewer votes than his opponent in a head-to-head race, he has a mandate for an extremist agenda.

Gas Prices

In the Crazy Republican e-mail below, it points out that gas was only $2.19/gallon in 2006. This is true, but extremely misleading. Here is why:

Per the chart above, gas is indeed low in 2006, but look at it on longer timeline:

As you can see in the chart, gas prices have risen over 300% while Little Bush has been in the White House. Once again, the republicans only use the info that benefits them, not always the truth. Next lie please...

Consumer Confidence

In the Crazy Republican e-mail below, it states:
"A little over one year ago, consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high."

Here is why this is propoganda:

It is true that it was at a 2-1/2 year high in 2006, but it was a high point of a declining index. Notice how it has gone down during the Bush Administration, and it had gone up in Clinton's. Next republican lie please.

An email was recently sent to me by a friend of mine. It is attempting to make a case for the republican party. Here is the body of the e-mail:

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen.
